The handle is made using a single piece of horn, with a thick shape to ensure a good grip, equipped with a spring but no internal metallic structure. The band consists of pair of thin plates inserted onto the horn and filed down to make them level; two characteristic round "metal rings" trims the opposite extremity of the handle.
