Sknife, Damast, 2 Steak knives: on Sknife's website we read that torsion damask steel is treated with two of the best knife steels with up to 1‘000 layers.
Item S-201DE Two steak knives forged in Switzerland from stainless torsion damask steel 60 HRC. Handles made of stabilized black colored ash, fine workmanship and hand honing by cutler Hansjorg Kilchenmann in Basel. Total length 230 mm, blade 130 mm. Packaging: cardboard box. Shades and natural streaks may be different from that reproduced on the image.
The flowing transition from the handle to the blade allows ergonomic cutting. Due to the optimized design the cut surface has no contact to the surface. Besides the surgical steel, Sknife uses a torsion damask steel that is treated with two of the best knife steels with up to 1‘000 layers per knife. Swiss wood: the walnut as well as the ash tree wood with its beautiful wood structure are both from a wood turnery in Graubünden. To make the wood durable it is infiltrated with a 100% acryl to get stabilized - this under vacuum and pressure. This procedure also changes the color of the wood. This technology is based on the latest research results from development projects together with the University of Applied Sciences in Biel.
