Dal 1997 il modello DOBERMANN ha subito notevoli mutamenti estetici e progettuali basati sull’evoluzione del gusto e delle tendenze, pur mantenendo una linea coerente con i disegni originali. DOBERMANN IV fa della flessibilità d’uso e della resistenza strutturale le sue caratteristiche principali.
DOBERMANN IV S600, così come il modello dal quale deriva, è un multiruolo utilizzabile per la caccia, la sopravvivenza, il campeggio e l’uso militare.
La lama ha una punta di forma “drop point” mentre la parte centrale ha un profilo “recurved blade”. L’arrotatura viene effettuata a filo piano. Questa particolare geometria della lama permette al DOBERMANN IV sia di effettuare tagli precisi e netti su materiali come cordame, legname e fogliame che di trovare facile impiego nei lavori tipici del Bushcraft e del Survival come ad esempio il batoning e il chopping.
A differenza degli altri DOBERMANN IV questo modello utilizza l’acciaio Böhler S600. Questo materiale è utilizzato nella produzione industriale per fabbricare utensili per la lavorazione del metallo e nella realizzazione di stampi. L’alto contenuto di molibdeno, tungsteno e una buona presenza di vanadio nella sua composizione chimica, gli conferiscono eccellenti doti di durezza, resistenza all’usura e tenacità. La presenza di Cobalto favorisce la formazione di piccoli carburi uniformemente distribuiti, caratteristica che esalta ed eleva la resistenza all’usura. La lama del DOBERMANN IV S600 viene temprata e trattata criogenicamente raggiungendo così un’eccezionale durezza di ben 64 HRC. Questo le conferisce una grande resistenza all’usura e la capacità di garantire a lungo il tagliente del filo. Böhler S600 ha il 4.5% di cromo, il che lo rende un acciaio ossidabile. Per questo motivo è stato applicato il nuovo rivestimento a base teflon “EXP DARK” proposto da Extrema Ratio.
DOBERMANN IV S600 è dotato di manico in forprene di colorazione green. Dall’impugnatura sporge un codolo avente funzione di frango vetri munito di un’asola che consente di dotare il coltello di lacciolo.
DOBERMANN IV S600 viene fornito con un fodero cosciale in cordura, anch’esso in colorazione verde, è provvisto di sistema fissaggio al sistema M.O.L.L.E. ed è adattabile sia a mancini che a destrorsi.

Since 1997 the DOBERMANN model has notably evolved its aesthetic and design according to everchanging tastes and trends, while retaining a line consistent with its original designs. DOBERMANN IV has usage flexibility and structural resistance as its main haracteristics.
DOBERMANN IV S600, like the model from which it derives, is a multirole knife that can be used for hunting, survival, camping and military use. The blade has a drop point tip while the central part has a recurved blade profile. The grind, higher than the knives of the same segment, is flat. This particular blade geometry allows DOBERMANN IV to make precise and clean cuts on materials such as rope, wood and foliage, as well as to be employed for typical bushcraft and survival operations, such as batoning and chopping.
Unlike the other DOBERMANN IVs, this model is made of Böhler S600 steel. This material is used for manufacturing metalwork and stamp-creation tools. The high content of molybdenum, tungsten and a good presence of vanadium in its chemical composition provide excellent qualities of hardness, wear resistance and toughness. The presence of cobalt stimulates the growth of small uniformly distributed carbides, which enhance mechanical qualities such as bending capacity. The blade of DOBERMANN IV S600 is hardened and cryogenically treated, thus reaching an exceptional hardness of 64 HRC; this makes it very resistant to wear and gives the edge a lasting sharpening. Böhler S600 has 4.5% of chrome, which makes it oxidizable. For this reason, Extrema Ratio has chosen the new EXP DARK Teflon-based finish.
DOBERMANN IV S600 is equipped with a green forprene handle. It has a pommel that functions as a glass breaker protruding from the handle; this is equipped with a lanyard hole.
DOBERMANN IV S600 is equipped with a cordura thigh sheath, also in green colour; it comes with a M.O.L.L.E. fixing system and can be adapted to both left-handed and right-handed people.
