Mosaic damascus collector's knife, completely made by the Italian famous bladesmith Feltresi Moreno. A handle and a blade—knives are often described reductively. Blacksmith Moreno Feltresi has named this mosaic damask knife "Switch," a piece crafted with a truncated tip, similar to that of grafting knives used in horticulture, subtly linking it to the floral motif achieved with mosaic damask. However, another reason prompted Moreno to favor this truncated tip shape, and while this last motif will remain a small, secret treasure for Feltresi, all of this belies his belief that the knife is...just a handle and a blade.
Technical specifications provided by the blacksmith.
Switch: Mosaic damask blade (1.2842, 15n20, pure Ni), scabbard and handle made of black locust wood, lightly sandblasted and lightly stained with an irregular pattern. The scabbard ring, guard, and butt are made of mokume (Cu and brass), and the draw nut is made of brass. The tip of the sheath is made of rough epoxy resin, while the inside of the sheath is made of leather and epoxy + carbon fiber. The handle is made of epoxy and inert materials between the wood and the tang. Blade 140 mm, total 270 mm.
