Michel Bras
Born in Aveyron, southwest France in 1946, Bras began his career as a chef in the Aubrac region of Laguiole, assisting his mother at the family-run hotel-restaurant, Lou Mazuc. Unlike other chefs who often traveled from restaurant to restaurant as part of their training, he remained in his much-loved Aubrac, establishing his own particular style of cuisine. In 1982, Michel Bras received a single Michelin star. In 1992 he opened his eponymous "Michel Bras"restaurant, and by 1999, had received 3 stars from Michelin. In 2002, he opened his second restaurant, "Michel Bras Toya Japon" in Hokkaido, Japan.
