I designed the ATC in 1986-87 inspired by my experience with military and security personnel in Central America and the United States.
I wanted to create a unique knife that was lightweight yet strong, easily accessible and conveniently carried on various items of clothing, completely corrosion resistant, ambidextrous to open and close, and operable with one hand.
The ATC was the first tactical knife completely assembled with screws rather than pins and rivets.
